My Famous 'Baked' Mostaccioli
Dec 12th 2013, 23:42

This is a recipe that I have been tinkering around with since 1986, and I've been told that it is pretty much perfect. It is requested for any get-together that I attend. I also double or triple this recipe to feed up to 75+ people. This is also a great recipe because you can make the entire batch, and then freeze half of it (before baking) to have a ready made dinner with only baking time involved. (*Note: This recipe makes over 10 lbs). I hope you enjoy my recipe.

My Father-In-Law Mickey'sFamous Turkey Vegetable Soup
Dec 12th 2013, 20:12

I request this soup to be made every time my husband and I go visit his parents. Mike, AKA Mickey, makes this soup up especially for me every time! He had given me the recipe years ago, but I had not made it myself until I made it for the first time last week. As with any recipe, I have to change up at least one thing, bad habit. When I made it, the only thing I did differently was to make up my own homemade turkey stock from the leftover turkey breast carcass we had from Thanksgiving. Couldn't see it going to waste! Feel free to change up anything to your own taste or make this soup as is!! Either way, it's delicious!!!

Teff Pancakes (Gluten Free and Egg Free)
Dec 12th 2013, 18:12

This is a tried and true recipe from an allergy filled household. I also use this recipe for waffles, just mixing a slightly thinner batter.

Jan Hagel -Dutch Almond Cookie
Dec 12th 2013, 18:00

The recipe came from my husbands grandma, or Beppe. She knew they were my favourite, so every time we went to their house, she would make sure that she had some on hand and then send some home with me! I am lucky in that she shared her recipe with me, too. They are remarkably quick to make and to disappear.

Pecan Pralines, New Orleans School of Cooking
Dec 12th 2013, 17:59

I bought pralines from New Orleans School of Cooking when my mother and sister and I visited there in 2012, and they were the BEST we tried - and we tried a lot!! When I came home I looked on line for the recipe, and found a video demo of the class on making pralines. I watched the video over and over until I got all the ingredients and instructions written down, which I submit here. Other recipes on this site recommend bourbon as flavoring, which I think sounds fab, so I noted it. I also added a dash of salt, as I always add a little salt to candy and frostings. I have not made these yet, but I'm posting it for safe-keeping.
