Brunei Curry Spice Mix (Rempah) Jun 2nd 2013, 22:12 Rempah, a common curry blend in Brunei, will infuse your meal with the most haunting flavors of garlic, ginger, lemongrass… spicy chili pwder and golden turmeric. The entire kitchen smells like paradise when you cook with Rempah. You can eat Rempah in any curry – vegetarian, chicken, fish, meat. The original recipe calls for anchovy paste, giving it that nice salty flavor. I have subbed miso paste, which also has a nice salty flavor. This calls for the Spanish dry chorizo sausage, not the raw Mexican chorizo one. Boar's Head makes a good one sold at deli counters. I buy bags of crystallized ginger bits, so chopping is not needed. Prep time includes chilling time for dough. | Rating: 0 Created: Jun 2, 2013 6:15:48 PM | | Pork With Almond Sauce Jun 2nd 2013, 16:55 Serve over your favorite noodles or rice. This uses a small pork tenderloin, which roasts quickly. The original recipe said to shred the meat, but I found that since it is not cooked slowly, the meat doesn't shred as easily as, say, pork shoulder. so I just cut it inot bite-size pieces. If you can't find almond butter, chunky peanut butter is a good substitute. | Rating: 0 Created: Jun 2, 2013 5:55:03 PM | | Corn Chowder (Pioneer Woman) Jun 2nd 2013, 16:14 I love this recipe because it has a little bit of kick to it. For best flavor, be sure to get soba made with 100% buckwheat, not the kind made with wheat flour added. The kind that includes wheat also takes 9 to 10 minutes to cook. To make it GF, make sure your noodles and soy sauce are gluten-free, and substitute a mild white wine vinegar for rice vinegar. Both recipes are keepers. Recipe courtesy of The Pioneer Woman Cooks. Food From My Frontier. None of the optional ingredients were optional for me except the sour cream. | Rating: 0 Created: Jun 2, 2013 4:54:22 PM | | Broccoli Cheese Soup Jun 2nd 2013, 15:29 I found this particular version of this recipe to be very filling and somewhat rich.
