Walnut Date Chocolate Chip Cookies - No Grain
Jan 16th 2014, 20:37

I found this on a paleo blog (Stir It Up). I'm not sure what makes something paleo but I think the chocolate chips would disqualify it. I'm trying to give up refined grains and sugar, so I thought I'd try this.

Brown Pizza Sauce
Jan 16th 2014, 19:02

""I live about 1 hour from my favorite pizza joint so I decided to make my own sauce recipe for the days that I can't have the real thing. (Cause let's face it, NOTHING beats the real thing). After many attempts (10 full batches to be exact) at adjusting my recipe, this is what my taste buds came up with. I hope you will give it a try and enjoy it as much as my family and I do.""

Ginger Tempura (Shoga No Tempura)
Jan 16th 2014, 18:54

Simple and unusual. Ginger acts as an appetizer, freshens the palate, ans also warms the body. Good as an hors d'oeuvre or between the courses of as heavy meal, or served with pumpkin or sweet potato tempura. It would also make an amazing garnish on some dishes. From "Good Food From a Japanese Temple".

Zucchini With Sesame-Miso Sauce (Zukini No Goma Ankake)
Jan 16th 2014, 18:36

A rich vegetable dish. Other summer squashes, like pattypan or yellow crookneck, can also be used. We do this with grilled, rather than sauteed squashes cut in half lengthwise. Eggplant works nicely this way, too. From "Good Food From a Japanese Temple".
