Khoresh-E-Qormeh-Sabzi (Persian Mixed Herb Casserole) Oct 6th 2013, 17:32 This is another intriguing recipe from Farah's Persian Cuisine, pg 112. I have included soak time in prep time below, I suggest using that time to prep herbs and veggies. Cooking time is estimated. | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 6:32:45 PM | | Ash-E-Reshteh (Persian Herbs, Vegetables & Noodle Soup) Oct 6th 2013, 17:09 This recipe comes from Persia and I have taken it from 'Farah's Persian Cuisine, pg 24.' My workmate is from Persia and gave me the cookbook, it is simply gorgeous and the author has added a lot of interesting detail about the region in the book. I have included soak time in this recipe. I would suggest using the tail end of your soaking time to prep everything. I would also do the frying parts of this meal whilst the pot is boiling. | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 6:09:36 PM | | My Baba's Cold Remedy Oct 6th 2013, 15:49 This is what my grandma would give me when I had no fight left in me...lol But, that being said, it breaks up the phlegm from bronchitis or head colds, it really does! So when your desperate for relief...this is the one! | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 4:49:43 PM | | Char's Tender Ribs Oct 6th 2013, 13:48 slow and low | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 2:48:44 PM | | My Pizza Casserole Oct 6th 2013, 12:39 I think this is the best version I have tried. The fennel seeds really make it taste like pizza! | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 1:39:31 PM | | Lebanese Spinach and Lentil Soup Oct 6th 2013, 12:11 This has fantastic flavor--absolutely love this. Feel free to substitute fresh chard for the spinach or mint for the cilantro. Serve with tzatziki and bread and/or a tomato salad. I used fresh spinach and doubled the recipe. This loaf almost fills the pan. Note: The rapid bake cycle on my bread machine is approx. 2 hours long. I have noticed that some bread machines have a super rapid cycle of approx. 1 hour. I doubt this recipe would work on a super rapid cycle. (Note on nutrition values: the nutrition values for the spelt flour is not included in the nutrition table. It appears Food.com does not have spelt flour in their database.) | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 8:21:10 AM | | Cheesy Greens and Rice Gratin Oct 6th 2013, 06:06 Tasty side dish or vegetarian entree, adapted from 'Eat Your Vegetables'. There are several recipes on Food.com for the Za'atar spice mix, or you can purchase it at spice shops (I bought it at www.savoryspiceshop.com). | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 7:06:23 AM | | Butternut Squash and Pear Bread (Quick) Oct 5th 2013, 23:11 I love a good pumpkin bread, but what I love even more is experimenting with different squashes in my breads. This can certainly be made with pumpkin, or acorn, or other squash. I planted butternut this year and had a bumper squash and I have a pear tree and together they made a beautiful bread! The addition of the pepitas (pumpkin seeds) adds an amazing depth to the bread. | Rating: 0 Created: Oct 6, 2013 12:11:28 AM | | |
