Mary Moran's Rosemary Lamb Chops With Seasonal Fig Compote
Aug 30th 2013, 19:49

I love figs and thought this recipe sound like something we would enjoy once figs come in season. This is from Mary Moran and was found on The Washington Times Communities web site. Marinade time not included and other times are estimated as figs are not in season yet so I cannot try yet. ;)

Cheez-It Chicken With Mushroom Sauce
Aug 30th 2013, 18:11

This started out as a "Ritz Cracker Chicken" recipe I got from Facebook, but as often happens to me, it turned into something a bit different. Regardless of it's inauspicous start, this turned out FANTASTIC and it will be one of my staples for the dinner rotation.

Easy Cheese Puff Rolls
Aug 30th 2013, 16:55

This is quick, easy and delicious! It could be made bite sized for an appetizer, or "roll-sized" to accompany any meal. You can use any cheese that you would like, but I would suggest a strong flavored cheese. Also add onions, garlic, herbs, or anything you would like for extra flavor! I think it would be delicious with a sharp cheddar and jalapenos!

I was at a friends house one night when I saw them preparing zucchini in a way very similar to this, so when I went home later, I decided to put my own little twist on it and now I have this great side dish!

CAJUN MEATBALL STEW
Aug 30th 2013, 13:40

This is a very popular recipe in the Cajun part of South Louisiana, which is frequently referred to as "Acadiana." If there's one thing we folks in Acadiana love, it's our rice and gravy! I have often said that when I die, if wherever I end up doesn't have rice and gravy, I'll know I didn't make it to Heaven. Cajun Meatball Stew starts off with your typical dark brown roux. Some people prefer to buy it in stores, ready made. I've never understood why, because it's not that difficult to make from scratch. The main thing you must do is stir, constantly, over a medium high heat, never leaving the stove until it's almost the color of chocolate syrup. If you burn it, throw it out and start over, because it will give your gravy a very bitter taste. When I have the time, I prefer to make this the day ahead, separate the meatballs from the gravy, and refrigerate. Not only does this cause the fat from the meat to rise to the top and harden for easy removal, but, enhances the flavor.
