Mosiello, Concord, N.H. I make it a few times a year, especially if we are having grilled Italian sausage, but it's good on hotdogs and hamburgers as well. When my children were little I left out the red pepper because they were sensitive to any spiciness but it is easily adjusted to your tastes. The recipe is also easily halved if you won't use it up within two weeks. | Rating: 0 Created: Aug 6, 2014 10:12:40 PM | | Hot Spinach and Asiago Dip Aug 6th 2014, 21:10 Perfectly cheesy and creamy, this hot dip is great served with pita bread/chips or crackers. | Rating: 0 Created: Aug 6, 2014 10:10:08 PM | | Basic Hashbrowns Aug 6th 2014, 21:08 I was one of those who would rinse shredded potatoes of various kinds, wring them dry in a towel, microwave to partially cook, and finally place in an iron skillet, cooking with a variety of oils, butter, or nonstick spray trying to find the perfect recipe. They were good, but a lot of trouble and still "not quite right". This recipe is very easy and is the yields the best outcome I have experienced. I like either the Yukon or reds, but most any are acceptable. This is the basic recipe, but can be seasoned any way you wish. | Rating: 0 Created: Aug 6, 2014 10:08:55 PM | | Old Sog (An Eggless, Milkless Raisin Cake) Aug 6th 2014, 21:07 This was my great grandmother's favorite cake to make. The cake is really simple to make, and contains neither eggs nor milk. Despite the name, the cake is moist, not soggy. The name, "Old Sog," is a little bit controversial in our family. Some folks say this is a really inelegant name for a delicious cake. I call the cake "Old Sog" because I can still hear Grandma saying it. Besides, elegance was never a priority to her. If you make the cake with margarine, it's vegan! | Rating: 0 Created: Aug 6, 2014 10:07:32 PM | | Galumpke Soup Aug 6th 2014, 21:07 When I was a forester in Michigan's Upper Peninsula thirty years ago, I was working one cold day in a forest owned by a old Polish lady. She invited me in for lunch and served me this delicious soup. I asked her for the recipe. This year we've had a cool summer here in Michigan and my wife asked me to prepare this soup. | Rating: 0 Created: Aug 6, 2014 10:07:16 PM | | |
