Turkish-Style Chicken Stew
Apr 6th 2014, 19:56

From the blog "Surfing the world cuisine", whose author is a Lithuanian woman living in Turkey. She explains that this is not a traditional recipe, but in the Turkish tradition and using seasonal ingredients. Turkey exports most of its dried tomatoes, but they are available and why not use them? I have not made this, but it sounds quite appealing.

Chewy Italian Rolls from KAF
Apr 6th 2014, 19:56

Another King Arthur Flour Recipe that is based on an Asiago Ciabatta recipe. These rolls offer the taste and texture of traditional Italian bread, with a nice spongy nature. Prep time is active and does not include rising

Maple Chipotle Barbecue Braised Ribs
Apr 6th 2014, 19:56

A friend made these, and I asked her for the recipe. She had found it on Pinterest. I made some adjustments when I made them. They technically are not braised since they are not seared in the beginning, I think I might try that next time, but this is written the way that she and I made them. They are definitely a labor of love. Whenever I make ribs, I am reminded why they are $15-$25 dollars a plate in the restaurant!

White Bread/Stand Mixer Style
Apr 6th 2014, 19:55

I bought a stand mixer and didn't like the recipes that came with it and couldn't find one on here so I created this one after some experimenting. This recipe makes 3 nice airy loaves. You can also use it as a sweet bread by increasing the sugar to 1/3 or even 1/2 cup to your taste. I use 1/3 cup sugar to make cinnamon buns. Preparation time includes rising the dough.

Persian Rice With Cinnamon, Pistachios and Golden Raisins
Apr 6th 2014, 19:54

A very easy Persian rice recipe. I am suspecting that the curry powder called for is really Baharat or a similar Persian spice mix. From the cookbook Vegetarian Planet by Didi Emmons. Only a few alterations were made with this recipe.

Vegetarian Posole (Slow Cooker)
Apr 6th 2014, 19:53

From the blog "Slender Kitchen". I have not tried this yet, but it has all kinds of things I like. I think a 5 quart slow cooker is needed. Serving size is 1 1/2 cups.

Parmesan Broccoli & Angel Hair Skillet
Apr 6th 2014, 19:52

Just the right amount of buttery creaminess! The broccoli makes it healthy. :) Got this on the back of a pasta box. Fresh broccoli can be substituted for frozen.

Crockpot Chicken Tikka (Weightwatchers)
Apr 6th 2014, 19:51

An easy chicken meal with 7 pts per serve. I found the juice was quite runny an would suggest stirring through a couple of tsps of cornflour 30 minutes before serving.
