New Orleans Style Po-Boy

Very good sandwich. It's important that you allow the olive mixture to chill for 8 hours to develop the flavors. This is a version of the muffaletta and is good hot or cold. Chilling time for the olive mix is not included in prep time.

Diabetes-Friendly Pineapple Cilantro Popcicles

You can add sugar to this if you want to, but it is already really sweet without the sugar because of the pineapple.

Broccoli, Ham and Cheese Casserole
Apr 22nd 2013, 19:40

I had the broccoli, ham and cheese, but no cream soup, so I took a couple existing recipes and improvised. Also, I used Jarlsberg cheese, but Swiss or any favorite cheese could be used.

For a while I was in search of a good combination of toppings for grilled pizza that is also somewhat healthier than your usual delivery pizza. Here is a recipe that we like the most by far. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

I wanted a filling yet light meal. I looked at what I had in the house and put it together 1 ounce at a time.

Magic Cake
Apr 22nd 2013, 16:53

Resembles a custard filled cake, but it does it all on its own! Please follow directions carefully, for best results (e.g. - milk needs to be luke warm, butter allowed to cool).

Runzas (From Scratch)
Apr 22nd 2013, 16:35

If you are a German from Nebraska, you must have this recipe. There are lots of shortcuts, but here is the dough and filling from scratch. Making the dough from scratch is far better than the frozen dough shortcut, but it is time consuming. They also freeze well.

New Orleans BBQ Shrimp for 2
Apr 22nd 2013, 14:46

N.O. BBQ shrimp is not grilled or BBQ, it is a skillet dish in a buttery sauce. They serve it with heads-on shrimp that are not peeled and claim that the unpeeled shrimp impart a flavor that you won't get with peeled, which translates to the chefs are too lazy to peel the shrimp. Use chicken broth if it's all you can get, but FYI Knorr makes an excellent shrimp bouillion you can buy at Hispanic groceries that really rounds this dish out.
