Kirazli Roka Salatasi
Nov 2nd 2013, 22:09

From turkishcookbook.com. A salad from Istanbul. Note: because fresh cherries are out of season (shame, because Rainier cherries from Washington state would be amazing in this recipe!) I replaced them with sweet dried cherries. You also have the option of substituting other seasonal fruit: peaches, pears, etc. in either fresh or dried form. Turkish feta subbed for the tulum cheese (which I've yet to find here locally).

Bacalao Stew
Nov 2nd 2013, 21:10

Adapted from a recipe in "Kitchen of Light", by Andreas Viestad. He claims this is a contemporary classic Western Norwegian interpretation of bacalao, and mentions some Norwegians add things like olives and various herbs. This dish can be made a day in advance and reheated very gently. Prep time does not include soaking time for the fish. The original called for even more olive oil, but I reduced it by 1/3.

Bakery Shortbread With Chocolate Chips
Nov 2nd 2013, 13:27

Remember those big-as-your-face, tender-crumbly, buttery sweet bakery cookies studded with chocolate chips? This recipe gets pretty close. Feel free to substitute sprinkles (or jimmies) or colored sugar for the chips. Adapted from http://bit.ly/1bN476p by Yvonne Ruperti
