Pistachio Quinoa Pilaf With Harissa
Jul 16th 2013, 21:27

A spicy, complex and filling dish that works as both a side and a main course. You might try adding a fried egg on top with an extra drizzle of harissa. Adapted from Generation Foodie.

Black Cherry-Vanilla Sorbet
Jul 16th 2013, 21:26

This sorbet is slightly sweet and refreshing with a smooth, warm vanilla undertone. Please note "Preparation Time" includes time needed for the simple syrup to chill, time needed for the sorbet to churn in an ice cream maker as well time needed for freezing solid. If you like, you may choose to serve this sorbet directly after churning without freezing for 3-5 hours, but please be aware that the sorbet will be softer and melt much faster.

Peanut Butter & Banana Fudgesicles
Jul 16th 2013, 21:07

If you're looking for a healthy treat to feed a chocolate & peanut butter craving, these might be right up your alley. My version of "fudgesicles" includes no artificial ingredients and no added sugar. I use natural organic peanut butter but if unavailable, use your preferred variety. To make these nut-free, you could even substitute sunflower seed butter. (Note: "Preparation Time" includes time required for the fudgesicles to freeze solid.)

Vegan Greek Lemon Un-Chicken Soup
Jul 16th 2013, 19:36

I adapted this recipe for ZWT #9 and like it so much, I 'm entering my adaptation to make again. The original recipe #502895 is probably equally wonderful, but this worked so well I didn't miss the meat products. It has a nice tang from the lemon and was very filling.

Old Fashioned Apricot Pineapple Mousse
Jul 16th 2013, 18:59

The old fashioned version of this yummy crowd pleaser. I left out the 1/3 cup sugar that the original called for. I find that the Jello and sweetened condensed milk make it sweet enough.

Apricot-Ancho Barbecue Glaze
Jul 16th 2013, 17:51

Submitted by The Culinary Institute of America - low cholesterol, low-fat, and gluten-free. Couldn't pass this up as I love Ancho chilies for their earthy depth of flavor vs. heat and the combination of chilies and apricots sounded delicious.

Limber De Mango (Mango Icy Treat-Puerto Rico)
Jul 16th 2013, 16:51

What is a limber? It's kind of like a popsicle, but is usually served in a small plastic cup and made with natural fruit juices. It's very rich in flavor and texture, since often the pulp of the fruit is not removed from the mix. Tip: You'll know a mango is ripe if it's tender to the touch and you get the strong scent of mango when you smell it. Servings are a approximate. From Modern Mami.
